This temple was built in 1234 A.D and is dedicated to Honen, the founder of the Jodo sect of Buddhism, the humble monk fasted to his death in the very same temple. most of the temple integral structures have been destroyed by natural disasters as well as man made disasters. the estimated cost of construction of this temple is around 10 million, but there's always the possibility that it could have been more, hence most of its original buildings have been destroyed.
